Software Engineering Internship Review from Yuzhi

Software engineering intern Yuzhi from Swinburne University of Technology.

This internship experience was excellent. I not only learned a lot of practical knowledge and skills but also gained valuable experience. Overall, this opportunity has been very rewarding, and I am highly satisfied with the entire internship process.

The internship environment is inclusive, with a well-structured and efficient workflow. Recognizing my need for improvement in communication skills, my supervisor organized a lecture on effective communication and professional report writing. Additionally, the company maintains a supportive and employee-friendly work culture by not requiring overtime or after-hours responses to messages. The internship tasks include a grain quality inspection project and software development work, such as data processing, algorithm optimization, system design and implementation, testing, and debugging.

The internship has given me a fresh perspective on work, as the approach to task execution and communication with colleagues differs from what I experienced in school. This experience has helped me adjust my mindset and fill in my gaps in deep learning. I have gained a lot from it and developed a deeper understanding of this field. I believe the company is highly efficient in recruiting interns and provides ample professional resources. For job seekers, understanding the application requirements is crucial, and interview failures are a normal part of the process. However, since I had previous experience in a similar internship, my adaptation process was relatively smooth.
