“Overall, this internship has been a fulfilling experience. It not only gave me the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in real-world projects but also deepened my understanding and capabilities in my professional field. My main tasks included writing reports, drawing floor plans and architectural diagrams, participating in induction training, risk analysis, reviewing engineering drawings, and using AutoCAD and Revit for technical drafting and documentation. I was also responsible for gathering information from the Building Codes of Australia, modifying existing drawings, and calculating structural loads (such as HVAC loads).
I gained hands-on experience with AutoCAD and developed a deeper understanding of architectural drafting processes. These are skills that are not easily covered in university courses and have significantly enhanced my professional capabilities. I suggest planning your time in advance to balance studies, internship, and thesis work effectively. This will help you stay efficient and manage multiple responsibilities more confidently.
