Chemical and Biological Engineering Internship Review by Harry

Chemical and biological engineering intern Harry from the University of Queensland.

“My internship ended successfully in August. I gained a pretty good internship experience and really liked the company atmosphere. Everyone is nice too. The working environment was very good. Although I felt tired sometimes yet it was quite a fulfilling experience. Most of the time, everyone handled their own work, but we communicated with each other a lot. If I had some questions, they were always willing to help. I was responsible for the whole process from sampling to testing, such as food testing. Different supervisors would teach me to do different tests every week. I have learned real work experience and have known how the commercial laboratory works. This internship is very helpful for my future full-time work. In addition to enhancing my professional background, It has improved my English a lot. The local industrial environment is really important for students who are planning to find a job. During the internship, I can say that the working environment was different from the school environment. As an intern, you need to do more things, pay more attention, practice more, and do more tests. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. My tip for everyone is to make sure to write down and summarize all necessary details during your training as it will help you remember everything that has been discussed.”
