Construction Management Internship Review from Pranam

Construction management intern Pranam from the University of Adelaide.

“The internship is going well. I’m really enjoying the tasks I’ve been given. My tasks include:
Technical Documentation: Assisting in the distribution of updated plans and specifications to subcontractors and site teams.

Quantity Take-offs: Measuring and calculating material quantities from architectural and engineering drawings for cost estimation.

Site Inspections: Accompanying senior staff on-site to document structural progress and take photos for compliance reports.

Project Scheduling: Updating site programs and trackers to reflect daily progress and material delivery timelines.

Procurement Support: Comparing subcontractor quotes and verifying delivery dockets against purchase orders.

Defect Management: Identifying and recording minor “snag list” items during finishing stages for rectification.

Site Log Maintenance: Compiling daily site diaries, safety induction records, and equipment checklists.

Reporting: Drafting preliminary site reports and variation summaries for review by Project Managers.

The working environment is positive, with friendly colleagues – there is really nothing to complain about. This experience is beneficial to my studies, especially since it aligns with business management
