To stand out from others is crucial and requires much more than diplomas or a good personality:
It is a well-known fact that having work experience in a resume is a incontestable asset to find a job.
What a wonderful advantage to speak about our work experiences, and what we gained through these, during a job interview.
However, it is hard to find work experience without having worked before, unless getting boosted by someone very powerful and influential we know. But most of us do not know such a person.
Here comes a dilemma. How do we find our first professional work experience in this case?
The solution is to do an internship!
Internships are valuable work experience, where students not only work for a company but in addition learn a lot, by having a direct supervisor/mentor.
In result of this, students acquire knowledge, skills and capabilities, and, above all, a sense of professionalism, that will be useful all their life.
According to the student’s desires, internships can also cover just the aspect or subject that interest them in their course study or in a different area. Therefore students can specialise themselves, and acquire useful references through colleagues and supervisors during the internship. These people could be a real asset in the future, supporting the student, helping him to find a job by recommending him/her, or sometimes, even by employing them at the end of the internship.
For all these reasons, employers prefer candidates who have done internships before, mostly because it provides assurance that they have valuable experience in a company, and that they are motivated to work.
