Oriental Bay, Wellington, New Zealand
Famous for its culture of great food, wine, coffee and events, Wellington is the capital city and the second most populous city in New Zealand. Wellington is the world’s southernmost capital city of a country.
The main suburbs are:
-Thorndon, it’s Wellington’s historic precinct and oldest suburb.
-Te Aro is a suburb full of culture and charm where you can find bars, theatres and cinemas.
-Kaori is just few minutes from downtown Wellington and is full of New Zealand’s rarest wildlife.
-Island bay is a mix of culture, cuisine and the outdoors.
-Eastbourne is located at about 25 minute ferry ride or drive from Wellington city. It is the heaven for swimmers and kitesurfers.
You can either be part of a local family with homestay accommodation (https://www.homestay.com/new- zealand/Wellington) or if you prefer, some student hostels are available. (http://unilodge.com.au/city/ wellington. )
I would advise you to book a temporary accommodation when landed in Wellington (https://www.airbnb.com) and then, take into account all the possibilities and find the most suitable offer with your personal requirements (Price, location, etc.).
If you prefer to live in a flatshare, you can find affordable shared house/apartment on these websites: http://www.nzflatmates.co.nz/ flats/wellington, http://www.easyroommate.co.nz/ .
